PC Peripherals
A peripheral allows you to add features to your computer. While some primarily improve user comfort, others are simply essential. For instance, a desktop computer is unusable without a PC screen, mouse, and keyboard.
There are several types of peripherals:
• Input devices that provide information to the computer, such as a mouse, keyboard, webcam, scanner, etc.
• Output devices that transmit information from the PC, such as a printer, screen, speakers, projector, etc.
A peripheral can also be local, meaning directly connected to the computer, or networked. A NAS server, for example, is a network peripheral.
